While many of us who start our own businesses or who become solo professionals value our independence, we quickly find more value in having people at our side to give us extra strength, visibility and insight in the market. And so we get out there both in person and online to network and build relationships.

It's great to meet new people and learn what they do, and it's even more exciting when you can find a great deal of synergy between your goals and theirs. This is when you can start to explore referral partnerships or strategic alliances.

These are collaborations you can create with other entrepreneurs, professional service providers or small businesses owners that can open up a whole pipeline of new business for the both of you and strengthen your respective brands.

Partners can help you:

Build more customer trust and loyalty. The more resources you are able to share, the more completely you can serve your market. This will help you be seen as a go-to resource and allow you to transition from mere service provider to trusted advisor.

Break into new markets more easily. Building awareness of your products and services in a new market takes time and money, but you can shortcut some of the process by leveraging the trust and credibility of your referral partner. If you provide copywriting services for financial advisory firms, for example, you can offer the same services to insurance agents by partnering with someone who already serves that market but with a non-competitive offering.

Get a new perspective. If you have trouble navigating your new client's bureaucracy, or just want to bounce ideas off of someone who knows the players, you can turn to your referral partner for important insight and feedback.

Become a stronger competitor. You can take the referral relationship a step further by partnering to create a bundled solution for your market. By connecting your products or services together, you can provide a more complete answer to your target market's needs, saving them time and energy in gathering all the elements themselves, and giving you an edge over competitors who offer just one piece of the puzzle.

Allow you to think big. Sometimes you don't see the full potential of what you can create in your business until you see what others are doing, how you overlap, what their strengths are, and where you can take the relationship further. That's when the fun really begins. In working together, you might discover new products to create or new expansion opportunities that you would never have thought of tackling on your own.

Copy And Paste Your Way To Profits?

Ever wish pay-per-click marketing could be as easy as copy-and-paste? I won’t waste your time trying to convince you it is, because it’s not, but all too many affiliates shoot themselves in the foot by focusing all of their attention where the competition is fiercest – Google.

Most PPC beginners would automatically assume that Google’s traffic is always the highest-converting and most profitable, simply because it is the biggest game in town. They would be wrong. In fact, there are other pay-per-click advertising networks out there that can be easier to use, cheaper and sometimes even more profitable than Google Adwords.

One of the most frequently overlooked is MSN Adcenter. By rights, it should hardly be obscure, given that it is owned and operated by Microsoft, but surprisingly few marketers are taking advantage of the advertising opportunities MSN has to offer.

Sure, MSN may have less than 10% of online search traffic, but that still amounts to hundreds of millions of visitors per month. What’s more, the quality of MSN’s visitors, from a marketer’s perspective, is very high – a high percentage of them have made recent online purchases.

MSN Adcenter has some qualities that make it ideal for the beginner, such as the absence of some of the more burdensome rules and regulations that stymy many beginner affiliate marketers. While there are ad quality guidelines, there is no “Google Slap” to worry about on MSN Adcenter. Ads will not mysteriously start demanding $5 or $10 bids per click in order to keep running, and click prices overall can be considerably cheaper than those on Google Adwords in many cases.

Affiliates advertising on MSN Adcenter also do not have to worry about direct linking – unlike Google Adwords, Adcenter has no rules requiring that only one advertiser per keyword link to a particular landing page, so you are under no obligation to go to the trouble of designing a squeeze page for your campaigns.

Don’t get me wrong – Google Adwords is, and will continue to be, a great advertising platform for affiliates. The thing to remember is that despite its size, Google is not the be-all and end-all of online advertising and affiliate marketing – the field of opportunities is much bigger than that.

How Do You Define Abundance?

Abundance is a concept often debated in spiritual and entrepreneurial circles.

Entrepreneurs commonly use the catch-phrase "thinking BIG," but they really mean the same thing.

Abundance is tough to define because it's one of those unique ideas that must be experienced to really be understood ... it can't just be explained.

Yet the most encouraging part of adopting an abundance mindset is how it can connect you to people with totally different set of beliefs and values.

It instantly sustains inclusivity even with people who are dramatically different.

POP QUIZ: What do Mother Theresa and Donald Trump have most in common?

The answer is their abundance mind-set.

Donald Trump says, "If you're going to think anyway, you might as well think big."

Mother Theresa said: "The more we discover the magnitude and abundance of God's gifts, the more we will find ourselves."

Again, the abundance mindset creates connections.

Bucky Fuller had this to say about the abundance mindset:

"The condition of planet earth is abundance. Our belief in either scarcity or abundance determines how our financial, legal, political and military systems are set up or exist at all.

Scarcity and abundance are foundational and contextual ideas. They each give rise to a distinct system of thought and a number of rules, characteristics and measures which only make sense within their own system."

Above all, the abundance-mindset is a choice. In other words, you choose to look through the lens of scarcity, or through the lens of abundance. There is no in-between.
